The website of Nerja's most famous beach restaurant

The TV series Verano Azul made it famous across Spain, and its paellas have kept it that way since 1969. It needed a website to match.

The brief

The starting point

The client needed to refresh their image, which had not changed in years. A business that draws people from all over Spain, and from abroad, with a website that no longer reflected what the beach restaurant is today.

The work

What we did

  1. 1Light, fresh and MediterraneanLike the atmosphere you can feel in their open-air dining area on a summer's day. Subtle animations and clearly defined sections make browsing pleasant while visitors get to know the story of the beach restaurant.
  2. 2The menu online, dish by dishThe key point. We photographed every dish on a normal working day, as each one came out of the kitchen and without interrupting service.
  3. 3Orders connected to their POS systemWe also developed an ordering website synchronised with their point-of-sale system: customers order, collect and eat on the beach or wherever they like.
  4. 4Spanish and EnglishA large share of the people who come to Burriana are from abroad, so the whole website is in both languages.

The website

The homepage, the menu with a photo of every dish and the story of the restaurant, which begins in 1969 on the sand of Burriana beach.

The website's content

The photos and videos on the website come from our monthly visits to create content, on normal working days and involving the waiting staff and even the customers.

The result

What we achieved

A fast website that ranks well, with original content in every section. On PageSpeed Insights it scores 99 for performance, 100 for best practices, 96 for accessibility and 92 for SEO, with the main content on screen in 0.9 seconds.
