The brief

The starting point

The car was back in the workshop for another upgrade: opening up the wheel arch so the air flows through better, which helps cool the brakes and improves aerodynamics.

What we did

  1. 1A car the audience already knewThe MX5 had already built a reputation on social media with the 8,000 rpm reel. This piece shows its next modification.
  2. 2The mechanic, hard at workOne of the team's mechanics modifies the wheel arch while explaining to camera what he is doing and what it is for.
  3. 3Without interrupting the workWe filmed it simply, interrupting the mechanic as little as possible so the work could carry on at its own pace.
  4. 4The technical side, clearly explainedMore air through the wheel arch cools the brakes and improves aerodynamics. The video explains it while you watch it being done.

The MX5 in the workshop

Frames from the reel itself: the mechanic opens up the wheel arch and fits the vent that lets the air through.
